Hillsboro, Aug 3 - Mrs. George Connell and sister Mrs. William Bailey of this place received word Friday morning of the death of their cousin, Mrs. Mary J. Shaffer, who died at her home in Covington about midnight Thursday night. The deceased was 71 years of age, having been born August 3, 1858 near Shawnee Mound. She was the daughter of Valentine and Celia Bowman Bruner and was united in marriage to Howard Shaffer in 1883. She leaves her husband, one son, Wlater Shaffer of Danville, Ill and two grandchildren. She was a member of the Christian Union Church southeast of Waynetown.
Local undertakers will have charge of the funeral services, a short service being held at the home in Covington Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock and will be conducted by Rev. Glazer of Cincinnati, Ohio. Interment will be in the Masonic Cemetery at Waynetown - kbz
